The introductory course in FutureLearn is now in its fifth and final week. At the beginning of this week (Monday 14 November), we had 2839 registrations, and new learners were still signing up. Not everyone who registered also showed up, but with 54.6% of registered participants also showing up, we have a very high turnout for a MOOC.
There were many interesting discussions in the MOOC’s individual steps and the participants’ reactions to the MOOC’s content have been very positive. Some even finished the MOOC yesterday, even though the content of week 5 did not become accessible to learners until Monday. For example, Trevor Boland tweeted earlier today,
So proud to get my certificate for Digital Accessibility on @FutureLearn: https://www.futurelearn.com/certificates/k7v40b1 #FLaccessibility
Other tweets about the MOOC can be found using the hashtag #FLaccessibility.
The MOOC is still open for registration until Sunday 27 November (the original deadline—20 November—has been extended). After this date, the content of the course remains available to those who have registered, so everyone can continue using the content after that date. We expect some learners to finish the course during the Christmas holidays. You can also register your interest for one of our further courses by subscribing to our newsletter.
