Our MOOC on digital accessibility started last week on FutureLearn with over 2,000 participants and reached around 2,500 participants at the beginning of the second week. The course participants come from over 120 different countries and are very diverse with regard to professional background and previous knowledge. Among our participants, we find students, people working in academia (both lecturers and support staff), people working for both small and larger enterprises (including startups), people working for public authorities, library staff, etc. Many participants are new to digital accessibility, while others already have experience with captioning videos, user experience research or product design. Some participants have first-hand experience of disability. This great diversity of participants has led to very interesting comments and discussions in the forums, where people have shared many tips and links to resources related to digital accessibility.
Registration for the MOOC is open until 20 November, so it is still possible to join. You can get tweets about the MOOC by searching for the hashtag #FLaccessibility.
