This may include project managers, developers, students, and teachers. The course does not require any specific skills.<\/p>\n<h2>Learning Platform<\/h2>\n<p>The Canvas server at the Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (<abbr>HiOA<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n<h2>Course Duration and Efforts<\/h2>\n<p>The course will be a four-week self-paced course. Students will be expected to spend 3 hours per week on reading &amp; watching the materials and doing exercises and assignments.<\/p>\n<h2>Short Description<\/h2>\n<p>This course will focus on involving users in the design and development of accessible <abbr><a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;ICT&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Information and communications technology, i.e. the tools, both hardware and software, that people use to access, store, transfer and manipulate information.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/moocap.gpii.de\/?glossary=ict\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>ICT<\/a><\/abbr> systems. It will cover what user-centered design (<abbr>UCD<\/abbr>) is, why it is important, and how to use it to ensure <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Accessibility&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The extent to which a product (including software, websites and documents) or service can be used by everyone, regardless of disabilities.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/moocap.gpii.de\/?glossary=accessibility\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>accessibility<\/a> of your <abbr>ICT<\/abbr> systems.<\/p>\n<h2>Long Description<\/h2>\n<p>In this course you will learn how to use user-centered design to ensure accessibility of <abbr>ICT<\/abbr> systems. The course will cover different aspects of user-centered Design (<abbr>UCD<\/abbr>), including principles, activities, processes and methods. Challenges of using <abbr>UCD<\/abbr> to ensure accessibility will be discussed and methods for addressing the challenges will be covered. The course will also give suggestions to current and future <abbr>ICT<\/abbr> project leaders on using <abbr>UCD<\/abbr> in their projects.<\/p>\n<p>How to use <abbr>UCD<\/abbr> to ensure the accessibility of <abbr>ICT<\/abbr> systems will be at the heart of the course. You will gain knowledge on the different methods to involve diverse users in the <abbr>UCD<\/abbr> process, including users with disabilities, such as how to recruit users, how to communicate with users. The methods will be demonstrated through examples. You will practice the gained knowledge through quizzes and exercises.<\/p>\n<h2>Authors and Mentors<\/h2>\n<p>Weiqin Chen, Norun C.
