{"id":478,"date":"2016-04-13T15:11:40","date_gmt":"2016-04-13T15:11:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/moocap.gpii.eu\/?p=478"},"modified":"2016-04-13T15:53:23","modified_gmt":"2016-04-13T15:53:23","slug":"moocap-promoting-an-accessible-elearning-special-thematic-session-at-icchp-july-13-15-2016-linz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/moocap.gpii.de\/?p=478","title":{"rendered":"MOOCAP promoting an Accessible eLearning Special Thematic Session at ICCHP July 13-15, 2016, Linz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <abbr>MOOCAP<\/abbr> team are very happy to be supporting a group of experts presenting  at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icchp.org\/session\/5555\"><abbr title=\"International conference on Computers Helping People with Special Needs\">ICCHP<\/abbr> 2016<\/a> on the subject of Accessible eLearning along with the use of <abbr><a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;ICT&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Information and communications technology, i.e. the tools, both hardware and software, that people use to access, store, transfer and manipulate information.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/moocap.gpii.de\/?glossary=ict\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>ICT<\/a><\/abbr> and <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Assistive technologies&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Technologies, both hardware and software, that assist people with disabilities.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/moocap.gpii.de\/?glossary=assistive-technologies\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>Assistive Technologies<\/a> in online situations including <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Massive_open_online_course\">Massive Open Online Courses (<abbr>MOOCSs<\/abbr>)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>These free online courses are encouraging large numbers of attendees who may have very different skills and abilities and require new ways of teaching and learning to ensure everyone gains from the experience. <abbr>MOOCs<\/abbr>, in particular, tend to include a considerable amount of multimedia with images, videos and audio presentations.  The various platforms or organisations presenting  these courses offer a wide range of subjects from Modern History to Mathematics, Computer Science to Catering.
